OBYX is efficient because of it's simple design - it uses a single syntax for everything thus eliminating the need for complex notation. OBYX uses four basic functions and encourages separation of concerns in a natural manner by exploiting the hierarchical structure of xml and OBYX helps to ease data-flow and interconnectivity by hiding data retrieval issues.

Single syntax

Data, presentation and programming can all be modelled and manipulated via OBYX because it has been specifically developed to be XML orientated instead of general purpose like other scripting languages.

Four basic functions

Using the notion of conflating process-flow with functions, Obyx derives four tied flow-functions. It also uses an intuitive throw-catch system for error management.
